Season 3 of Attack on Titan was not expected to be filled with action. Rather, this season was suppose to focus more on the politics and include humans fighting humans. So for the second episode of Attack On Titan Season 3 to show this major action sequence, and for it to be executed so well, was great for viewers.

This Levi and Kenny’s chase scene displayed a bunch of complex sequences and amazing shots. Takayuki Hirao, who worked on the storyboard for this episode and is a frequent collaborator of Tetsuro Araki (chief director of Attack On Titan Season 3) knocked this scene out of the park. Arifumi Imai (main action animator) was able to implement the 3D background and 2D animation in an exciting way that was appropriate for this thrilling scene.

Anyone who is a fan of action and animation can appreciate this scene. Definitely one of the top moments of 2018.

Mai exists and doesn’t exist at the same time, so in order for people to acknowledge her existence, Sakuta has to do something that makes it hard for people to deny her existence.

Sakuta confessing his love to Mai is a top 3 anime moment in 2018. It was done as a last resort and it just shows sometimes you have to put it all out there to get what you want. This is an embarrassing and yet heartfelt scene.

One of the great reasons this scene is so great is because of the nostalgia of Steins;Gate. It was seven years ago since the series debuted and seeing Okabe in his mad scientist person was refreshing. Furthermore, Okabe was so depressed for most of the series, seeing him come back to his usual self was the ultimate payoff.
